The fine print, in plain English.
Effective: TBD before launch · Last updated: 2026-05-18
1. The agreement
By creating an account on GetNeighbor, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't create an account. If you're creating an account on behalf of a community organization (HOA, civic association, league, etc.), you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. What we provide
GetNeighbor provides software for community organizations to manage member rosters, collect dues, run events, coordinate volunteers, and archive board decisions. We don't provide property management services, legal advice, financial advice, or community-management consulting. The platform is software; it doesn't replace the work your board does.
3. What you provide
You provide the content of your community (member data, event content, board decisions) and you're responsible for the accuracy of that content. You're responsible for getting consent from your members before adding them to your roster.
4. Payment
Free tier: no charge, up to 100 households. Core: $39/month or $390/year (2 months free annual). Packs: $19-25/month each. Federation: custom pricing per contract. All charges via Stripe.
You can cancel any time. Cancellation prorates to the day. You keep access to your data via CSV export for 30 days after cancellation; after 30 days we permanently delete your community's data (except records we're legally required to retain).
Dues collected from your members are paid directly to your organization's bank account via Stripe Connect. We don't hold your funds. Stripe takes 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction (industry standard). We take 0%.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use GetNeighbor to:
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk emails to people who haven't consented to receive them
- Harass, discriminate against, or target specific members of your community
- Violate any applicable law (US federal, state, Canadian federal/provincial, etc.)
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to circumvent the platform's technical controls
- Resell access to the platform to third parties
If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account. We'll try to give you 7 days notice for non-emergency violations.
6. Service availability
We target 99.5% uptime. We don't guarantee perfect availability. We schedule maintenance outside business hours when possible. If we have a sustained outage that affects your community, contact us — we'll work something out.
7. Limitation of liability
GetNeighbor is provided “as is.” We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us during that period (or $100 if you're on the Free tier).
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the platform, your community's content, or your violation of these terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are resolved in Calgary, Alberta. (This is where the operating company is based; counsel will adjust for US customers as appropriate.)
10. Changes to these terms
When we make material changes, we notify you via email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that date constitutes acceptance.
11. Contact
Questions: email [email protected]. Legal notices: same address; we respond to formal legal correspondence within 14 business days.
